The following gives driving, parking, and other information for the
February 2, 2008 contest at Wayne State College.
The WSC campus map is available at:
and the TANN Robotics Competition will be held
in the Frey Conference Suite (which is in the south
portion of the main floor) of the WSC Student Center.
The most convenient point of entry for student teams
will be the east or west atrium doors of the Student
Center.
I just received word from WSC Campus Security a few moments ago, that
participants and sponsors may park in Lot 10 (approximately
one block east of the east entrance of the WSC Student
Center) on Saturday, February 2nd. No special permit
will be required on that day and campus security will be expecting
those coming to park in Lot 10. (Lot 10 is the large paved lot
between the campus and Providence Medical Center. There is
a walkway connecting that parking lot and the east side of the
Student Center.)
(For those coming into Wayne from the south on Highway 15
or from the west or east on Highway 35, the college campus
is 5 blocks north of the main intersection of Highways 15 and 35
(the Dairy Queen/Arnies Ford-Mercury corner) and those
arriving may turn east on 12th Street (JDW Lewis Drive) or
on 14th Street (Lindahl Drive) on a Saturday to get to the
Student Center. The east atrium entrance to the Student
Center is on Schreiner Drive, which is a one-way street going
north. Please see the URL for the campus map. Those coming
in from the north on Highway 15 will simply turn east at 14th
Street or 12th Street.)
The WSC Food Service (Chartwell's) reports that the upstairs dining room
in the north central part of the Student Center (overlooking the atrium
area)
will be open for dining from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day. Meal cost is
$5.50
per person.
